Are you a fiduciary?

Yes, as a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Kirk is required to follow the fiduciary standard to always put client’s interests first, to act with utmost good faith, to provide full and adequate disclosure of all material facts, to not mislead clients and to expose conflicts of interests.   We understand that trust must be earned and will work diligently to build and maintain that trust.  Kirk also holds multiple professional designations - Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) and Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) – and abides by / delivers that professionalism to you.  Learn more about Kirk's background in his bio.

How do you get paid? Do you have account minimums?

Kirk is a fee only advisor, charging a percent of assets under management or a flat fee quarterly, depending on the service provided.  The custodian will charge a small commission for buying and selling securities which is deducted directly from your account held at the custodian as part of the trade.  To minimize custodian fees, we use low cost funds as much as possible.  There are no other hidden costs to the client.  Our minimums start with $125,000 for Investment Management and $250,000 for Comprehensive Financial Management.  We do offer lower minimums for a streamlined investment management service.

What service is best for me?

We will determine which service is best during our initial meeting when we outline your goals and concerns and understand your motivation for seeking financial advice.  We have a variety of services to meet all different needs including ongoing comprehensive financial management, stand-alone financial planning, or investment management only.  Please see our services overview for more detailed information.

Do I retain custody of assets?

Yes, you will always retain title of your assets and have full legal control.  For accounts we are managing, you grant us discretionary trading authority within the account.  We currently use TD Ameritrade and Charles Schwab as our primary custodians.

How do I get started?

We start with an initial meeting (either in person or phone/video conference depending on geographic location) to discuss your goals and concerns.  We will outline what you want to accomplish, things that have worked well in the past or areas that need attention.  We will then decide on the type of service that best meets your needs.  Please see our services overview for more detailed information.  We do not have any geographical limitations at Pebble Valley Wealth Management.  We currently have clients all over the United States and have tools to handle virtual meetings making your experience seamless regardless of location.
