Pursuing and obtaining professional designations has given Kirk a broad and detailed knowledge of the
products and practices involved in comprehensive financial planning and investment management. The
requirements to maintain these designations assures that Kirk will remain up-to-date with current
practices and abide by their code of ethics.

Kirk completed the rigorous examinations and became a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) in 1997.
A Fellow possesses detailed knowledge of life insurance, annuities, investments, defined benefit and
contribution plans and two critical social programs affecting all of us -- Social Security and Medicare.

In 2002, Kirk completed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) examinations and became a charterholder.
The program focuses on portfolio management and investment analysis covering economics, markets
and various asset classes, accounting and credit analysis among other topics.

After completing the education and examination requirements in January 2007 and subsequent
experience and ethics requirements, Kirk was awarded the Certified Financial Planner (tm) certification in
January 2011. As a CFP(R) professional, various topics that impact a financial plan are considered -
insurance planning and risk management, employee benefits, investment, income tax, retirement and
estate planning - providing broad-based advice to the client.
